Partner Update
From Pastor Layne
God bless you, I hope this finds you “staying the course.” This months “partner question” prompted me to share with you the importance of knowing and sharing your testimony. Recently I taught on evangelism and part of the message was to illustrate the importance of our testimonies. You see all born again, Christians have a testimony of what they were delivered from and what God is doing in their lives. Without starting to preach, I do want to remind you that Jesus gave us clear instructions and direction to be His witnesses, which means to give testimony of Him in our families, neighborhoods, schools, jobs, and to the ends of the earth.
Kristy has included a blank testimony form, which will help you develop a short yet concise testimony. It will help you remember the facts about how you became a Christian because when sharing with someone you have to keep it short yet rich. If you would like to write out your testimony in longer form and share it with us, we would love to read it and possible use it with your permission on our website or newsletter or perhaps a tract. Long or short version is fine. We would never use your personal identifying info such as last name, address, or kid’s names. You would be amazed how God will use YOUR testimony to draw others to Himself. Share your testimony with us either snail mail or email them attention Kristy. Blessings to you!
You: Each month we will answer a question from our partners. Here is a question from Elly a mother of five teens from Maryland. She was greatly affected by reading the “My Story” tract. She asked:
Q: Are testimony tracts effective, and if so, why?
A: Thanks to you for a great question. Over 25 years ago when I started passing out tracts we really believed in order to lead someone to Christ it was simply having superior knowledge of the Bible and how many scriptures we could rattle off at will. It wasn’t until years later that I realized the two men that witnessed to me as a teenager simply told me that Jesus loved me so much He died for me and then gave me their simple yet compelling testimonies. Therefore, the answer is yes. Testimony tracts are very important because the reader is identifying with a real person and a real story. I am presently working on three and hope to have them done by next month. Blessings to you!
See you next month and may the Lord richly bless you!
Pastor Layne,
STAFF SPEAKS
To all prayer warriors, soul winning tract passers, and all in ministry, who have spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, nutritional, and financial problems, you feel yours are the worst and that you are selected for special punishment. You feel as though you are all alone and possibly, confused. You are not alone. “We are all going through it!” We are in the last days and every active believer is being attacked.
Pastor Layne and Kristy, and ACTS ministries go from one crisis to another in all of the above areas, but the work continues to be done. It is vital that you keep them in your daily prayers. All “on fire” ministries are struggling in the same. We are all being attacked with sicknesses, aches and pains, oppression, depression and the like.
Satan has the power to hit you hard because you are making havoc of his domain, but God is still in control and is testing you in every situation, and He is with you every second. When you go through the fire, look out! He will take you through the fire “again,” and others are praying for you at the very moment of your distress. Our afflictions and trials may be caused by God to develop stronger faith and maturity.
We are to be thankful for all things, even the bad things. The darker the day, the greater your light must shine. Jesus said in Matthew. 5:14 &16 “You are the light of the world.” "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
As children in the Lord, we are all being refined for His service and we are to “pray fervently for one another,” as in James 5:16. In addition, Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to, “Pray without ceasing.” Also, “Praise Him, glorify and worship Him!” We all need each other’s prayers. Every person in your thoughts and in your dreams needs prayer. Learn to go to sleep and to wake up - praying! When you focus your prayer for others needs, then God blesses your own personal needs.
Prayer has become my main ministry and I have many names on my prayer list. Nothing is greater than praying and witnessing Jesus. Without others praying for you and I, we would both, fall on our face. God does answer our prayers!
I suggest also to practice stopping all negative “thoughts and words” about God, about others and about yourself, and to let the Lord live His righteousness in and through you. Fill your life with God and His Word! These disciplines are powerful as is also, to keep your focus on Jesus and on others needs, and to practice living in all the Bible disciplines, then God, in Christ, increases in you and the garbage decreases or disappears, then, peace, and contentment increases, even during the pain and misery. All This works!
Joy is a reward, as is peace.
